Job Title: Sr. Food Scientist – R&D
Location: Milwaukee Wisconsin
This position is responsible for the research, development and commercialization of new poultry products, as well as the improvement of poultry products and food manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities Duties:
Deliver expertise and best in class knowledge of formulations, ingredients, and food manufacturing techniques
Manage the end to end process of poultry product development.
Manage multiple projects and adhere to fast timelines.
Collaborate with teams for Food Safety Requirements.
Collaborate with teams responsible for USDA and FDA Regulatory Requirements
Develop project plans to achieve project goals based upon well founded research approaches, track progress and adjust plans based upon research results.
Integrate external and internal innovation capabilities to deliver key initiatives and to drive Products Research capability.
Create product formulations and systematically evaluate their performance, stability and shelf life.
Development of New Product Specifications.
Development of new product samples.
Work independently, guided by functional processes and seek input or guidance on complex matters.
Encourage and drive innovation.
Optimization analysis across all areas related to Research and Development
Modification of existing products.
Develop, maintain and grow strong working relationships with plant management.

In depth knowledge of FSQA procedures, processes and requirements.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science or Poultry Science preferred;. other degrees such as Meat Science as they relate to the processing of food for retail and food service consumption, will be considered.

Senior Flavors Chemist
Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to expand our core technologies (processes, ingredients, substrates)
Works independently and in collaboration with cross functional teams involved to develop, modify, duplicate and/or implement new/novel technologies, process or raw materials, with project completion within expected timelines.
Supports the Sales team and Sales activities by providing technical support on site, at shows, product demonstrations, events, customer visits, technical presentations, expos or as needed
Supports the process of identification, assessment and development of new/novel technologies and process improvements. This can be achieved via-new raw materials, unique use of materials, technology transfer from another industry
Manages multiple priorities and timelines and uses strong technical and problem solving skills to approach complex projects.

Knowledge of company certified programs such as HACCP, NSF, SQF, Food Defense and Food Safety and Food Quality enough to train team in all activities required by these programs and implement changes as needed.
Communicate results, project status and other information to staff, internal customers, management and clients
Initiate new raw material item process
Develop methods for rapid retrieval of flavors against customer demands
Be a member of at least one Company committee – such as Safety, HACCP, First Responders, Food Defense or GMP Audit Team
Provide flavor related guidance to QC and Regulatory departments
Provides direction to junior staff
Independently develop new flavors to meet the needs of client’s specifications and cost requirements
Translation of analytical information (GC, HPLC)

Understand and execute SQF principles as they apply to this function including documentation and record keeping

Sales Planning Specialist – CPG
Communicates frequently with sales personnel to gather information about customers and sales promotions
Specific duties include: maintenance of indirect customers, pricing, customer ratio tables, customer promotion details and sales forecasts to ensure that the most accurate and current information is reflected in the AFS system
Key contributor to designing and implementing additional system modules (i.e. profitability model)
Develops and distributes sales reports to aid the sales organization in forecasting and sales promotions
Identifies and corrects system data and process errors
